When two Oregon State Police officers marched into our camp on the Grande Ronde River I was stunned.   It was not a pleasant visit and it started me wondering; what are your rights to privacy when camping on public land?  As you might expect, the answer is not a straightforward as one might hope.  For  my perspective on this encounter click here
