User Impacts
Illinois River
The Illinois is a a crystal clear river in Southwest Oregon. Remote, difficult and challenging it cuts through the Siskiyou Mountain's Kalmiopis Wilderness.
Summary
The Illinois is remote, difficult and located in a rugged canyon with few good campsites. Use is limited and except for the firerings and trash of thoughtless campers at the most heavily used campsite retains a wild and natural aura.
Followup
Additional educational signage at launch sites concerning the importance of no-trace camping would be helpful.
