Owyhee River

The Lower Owyhee, tucked away in the southeast corner of Oregon, drains portions of Idaho and Nevada.

Summary

Our trip, before the year's major river running season, found the river in nearly pristine condition.  Crowds were non-existent and campsites clean and natural asides from clusters of rocks left from users pitching tends and traps.

Followup

The abandoned fenceline on river right at Ryegrass Crossing serves no purpose and, to protect wildlife and enhance wilderness values, should be prioritized for removal.
