Owyhee River, Oregon.

It was a peaceful, sunny morning on the Owyhee River. Coffee in hand, watching the early morning light play over Chalk Basin, we were confronted by the annoying and persistent whine of a drone exploring our camp. I was amazed at the answer I received when I contacted Don Gonzales, Vale District Manager, about the use of drones on this wild and scenic river.

Summary

The Vale BLM does not consider the use of drones within the wild river corridor a violation of any existing rules or regulations.

Followup

BLM management units on the John Day and the Grande Ronde have regulations in place that prohibit the use of drones within the wild river corridor.  Why is the Vale BLM unable to follow this model?
