Henry M Jackson Wilderness, Washington.

The Henry M Jackson Wilderness is sandwiched between the Glacier Peak Wilderness and the Wild Sky Wilderness,  The eastern and southern sections of the Henry Jackson Wilderness have few trails and offer the opportunity for a significant wilderness experience.

We observed a greater focus on controlling trail erosion issues on this wilderness than any other area visited this season.  However, the construction of new drainage structures and check dams is still desperately needed in many locations.

Trailhead trail information is years out of date and should be removed or updated with accurate information.   Management should expand its' focus on erosion control and consider the installation of additional drainage structures and check dams as indicated by trail conditions.

Impacts from large stock trains can be very significant.

In many wilderness areas intrusion by snowmobiles is a big problem.

Wilderness creek crossings can be a challenge.
